Our Garden didn’t do as well this year – or at least as quickly. I think the spring weather and cooler start to the growing year had an impact. Some plants didn’t even take off at all (we had stumpy cruddy corn and the beans and snap-peas died out).

All that said – it’s still better than we ever could have hoped for on the coast. we ended up with a great harvest of shallots, red onions, and tomatoes. The herb garden is unbelievably healthy and is dire need of pruning.

We planted Zucchini, cucumbers, and acorn squash this year and all three of them have done well. The apple, pear, and plum trees are coming along nicely and will be ready to harvest in the very near future.

Next year we will probably do some things differently. Start soil prep earlier on and till it to break up the clay and add some vine beds for the zucchini, cucumbers, and squash.
