Hi, my name is Mark. I’m an IT contractor with a photography hobby. My wife Bridgett and I have been on a roller coaster life in the last year. Our youngest child left home and we both had drastic changes to our careers.
We lived on the Oregon Coast and decided to move inland to the Willamette Valley to be closer to work. An airport is critical for my job and Bridgett needs to be close in to limit her commute each day.
While we needed to be closer to an urban area – we did not want to live in the city, so we selected a nice wooded country acreage to call our home, our very own grove.
This blog is dedicated to cataloging the immense changes we have and will continue to experience in the coming years as we grow and develop our property.
Since 2017 we’ve embraced a pseudo homestead approach to life. We have taken control of our food by extensive gardening, raising chickens, beekeeping, canning, and making homemade/reusable whenever possible.
